Premiere Concert Series A Success – NY Times Review

Debut Concert at St. Malachy’s in NYC / P. Lukianov

It is a rare thing for a newly-formed choir to launch from complete obscurity to critical acclaim in only a few months. However, performing to full houses and standing ovations in New York, Pittsburgh, and Washington, under the expert hand of Maestro Vladimir Gorbik, the Patriarch Tikhon Choir has quickly established itself as one of North America’s premier professional ensembles performing Orthodox sacred music. The choir was hailed by the New York Times as being an ensemble in which “the voices blended beautifully, quiet and reserved before swelling to a more sumptuous sound.”

The concerts were professionally recorded for release on CD, and plans are under way for another concert series in 2014.
