PaTRAM Institute Singers’ Summer ACADEMY – June 27-30 2019

June 27, 2019 @ 8:00 am - June 30, 2019 @ 3:00 pm EDT

Mixed Choir & Male Singers Programs!

Big CHANGES to allow for GREATER FOCUS!

Announcement

Conductor Masterclass and Singer Programs are now separate!

In order to provide greater focus and attention to the various tracks in our program and to add a composer track, we have decided to separate the Conductor/Composer and Singer components into two venues meeting on different weekends.

In partnership with Dr. Peter Jermihov, an Orthodox Masterclass for Composers and Choir Directors will be held in Chicago, June 20th thru 23rd under the auspices of the Society of Saint Romanos the Melodist.

The PaTRAM Singers’ Summer Academy will now be held June 27th-30th at St. Alexander Nevsky in Howell, NJ. The Academy will offer both a Singers’ Program and a Male Choir Program.

The Male Choir will be conducted by Maestro Vladimir Gorbik while Maestro Benedict Sheehan will conduct the Mixed Choir.

Maestro Gorbik, choirmaster of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra Podvorie in Moscow, has held several master classes with the Male Choir at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. As a result, the male students will also benefit from singing alongside this more experienced and rapidly developing choir.

The Mixed Choir will be in good hands under Maestro Sheehan who has many years of experience conducting at St. Tikhon’s Monastery. Our Academy repertoire will also include hymns from his newly-composed Divine Liturgy (commissioned by PaTRAM).

Laryssa Doohovskoy will lead our outstanding Mixed Singers’ Program faculty comprised of Richard Barrett and Maria Sheehan.

Additionally, Dr. Nicholas Reeves will support both choirs with Musicianship Classes!

Registration is now open for the Conductor/Composer Masterclass.

Registration is Now Open for the PaTRAM Singers’ Summer Academy.

Uniting Musical Excellence with Orthodox Worship!

HOLY RESURRECTION SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, CHICAGO, IL

PaTRAM has joined forces with the Society of St. Romanos to present an Orthodox Music Master Class in Chicago in June 2019. Directed by Dr.Peter Jermihov, the Master Class has a unique Pan-Orthodox orientation, combining the study of conducting technique together with composition. The workshop setting is designed to coalesce trained Orthodox musicians into a forum where they can interact in a creative and meaningful way and grow their craft. We have a stellar international faculty-Dr. Tamara Petijevic, Dr. Irina Riazanova, Dr. Kurt Sander, Dr. Matthew Arndt– and a unique curriculum which includes Dalcroze Eurythmics and pre-event composition and musicianship coaching and training. The culminatory Divine Services will be celebrated with newly composed hymns by the Master Class participants and sung by a professional choir. The event combines Orthodox tradition with innovation and is uniquely designed for the challenges of the Orthodox music in America.
