DESCRIPTION:  \nMixed Choir & Male Singers Programs!\nBig CHANGES to allow for GREATER FOCUS! \n\nAnnouncement\nConductor Masterclass and Singer Programs are now separate! \nIn order to provide greater focus and attention to the various tracks in our program and to add a composer track\, we have decided to separate the Conductor/Composer and Singer components into two venues meeting on different weekends. \nIn partnership with Dr. Peter Jermihov\, an Orthodox Masterclass for Composers and Choir Directors will be held in Chicago\, June 20th thru 23rd under the auspices of the Society of Saint Romanos the Melodist. \nThe PaTRAM Singers’ Summer Academy will now be held June 27th-30th at St. Alexander Nevsky in Howell\, NJ. The Academy will offer both a Singers’ Program and a Male Choir Program. \nThe Male Choir will be conducted by Maestro Vladimir Gorbik while Maestro Benedict Sheehan will conduct the Mixed Choir. \nMaestro Gorbik\, choirmaster of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra Podvorie in Moscow\, has held several master classes with the Male Choir at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. As a result\, the male students will also benefit from singing alongside this more experienced and rapidly developing choir. \nThe Mixed Choir will be in good hands under Maestro Sheehan who has many years of experience conducting at St. Tikhon’s Monastery. Our Academy repertoire will also include hymns from his newly-composed Divine Liturgy (commissioned by PaTRAM). \nLaryssa Doohovskoy will lead our outstanding Mixed Singers’ Program faculty comprised of Richard Barrett and Maria Sheehan. \nAdditionally\, Dr. Nicholas Reeves will support both choirs with Musicianship Classes! \nRegistration is now open for the Conductor/Composer Masterclass. \nRegistration is Now Open for the PaTRAM Singers’ Summer Academy. \n\n \n        \n\n  \n \nPaTRAM Singers’ Summer Academy 2019 \nI am very happy to announce PaTRAM’s second Summer Academy. I invite you to join us for an intensive\, rewarding music program. \nKatya Lukianov\, Executive Director \n\nUniting Musical Excellence with Orthodox Worship!\n\nHOLY RESURRECTION SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH\, CHICAGO\, IL \n\nPaTRAM has joined forces with the Society of St. Romanos to present an Orthodox Music Master Class in Chicago in June 2019. Directed by Dr.Peter Jermihov\, the Master Class has a unique Pan-Orthodox orientation\, combining the study of conducting technique together with composition. The workshop setting is designed to coalesce trained Orthodox musicians into a forum where they can interact in a creative and meaningful way and grow their craft. SUMMARY:2019 Saratov Recording Project
DESCRIPTION:Fresh off their GRAMMY nomination for their CD\, Teach Me Thy Statutes\, and their newly released CD\, The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom\, the PaTRAM Institute will record their next CD in Saratov\, Russia\, this summer. The new CD\, entitled More Honorable Than the Cherubim\, is a compendium of hymns to the Theotokos by various composers\, which will be sung by a fifty-six-member male choir. The singers hail from Russia\, Serbia\, North America\, and Australia. GRAMMY-nominated Maestro Vladimir Gorbik will conduct the choir\, which will include an unprecedented ten octavists\, with baritone Michail Davydov as the featured soloist. On August 22nd\, 2019\, the choir will perform their repertoire in concert at the Saratov Conservatory. \nThe PaTRAM Institute Male Choir will be in Saratov for rehearsals and the recording of the new CD from August 20th-26th\, 2019. The CD will be recorded at St. Nicholas Monastery by multi-GRAMMY Award-winning production company Sound Mirror. Sound Mirror has received more than one hundred GRAMMY Awards and nominations for their body of work. PaTRAM is thrilled to be working with them again to create a professional quality CD that brings the beauty of Russian choral music to a Western audience. Reference Recordings\, a multi-GRAMMY Award-winning record label based in San Francisco\, will print and distribute the completed CD. \nWith the special permission and blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion\, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia\, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God\, considered by the Orthodox Church to be wonderworking\, will also be traveling with the choir\, accompanied by Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan. The icon will be in Saratov\, Russia\, from August 20th-28th\, 2019\, including during services for the feast of the Dormition. The master class will be held October 21st-23rd at Holy Trinity Monastery (HTM) in Jordanville\, NY\, during the Eastern American Diocese Pastoral Conference. The master class is open to all orthodox males and culminates in singing the Hierarchical Vigil and Liturgy officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion and His Grace Bishop Luka. \nCourse participation is FREE through a scholarship grant by PaTRAM Institute and meals are provided by HTM.
